The hydrochemical status of the Stryi River was found to be satisfactory. The phytotoxicity of the Stryi River water and certain small rivers was assessed as 'absent' in natural ecosystems and 'slight' in technologically altered ones. Prototypes of biosensors for xenobiotic monitoring were developed. The prevalence of various groups of plants and fungi was described, and the properties and resource potential of selected medicinal plants in the region were evaluated.
