Vavilov of the Institute of Pig Breeding and Agro-industrial Production of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine popup.description1 Enrichment of the gene pool of alfalfa plants, barberry, spring peas (spring and winter) with new introduced samples, replenishment of information databases, selection of sources and donors of valuable economic traits for further effective implementation in breeding and research programs of scientific institutions to create self-pollinating populations, varieties, hybrids. popup.description2 As a result of the project, the following were established and registered: a basic collection of field pea, Certificate No. 336 dated 21.10.2024, comprising 787 accessions of 35 botanical species originating from 51 countries, characterized by 18 traits with 82 expression levels; a trait collection of field pea (winter), Certificate No. 312 dated 15.11.2021, comprising 42 accessions from 10 countries, characterized by 18 traits with 87 expression levels; and a training collection of field pea (winter), Certificate No. 00350 dated 29.10.2025, comprising 66 accessions characterized by 20 traits with 94 trait expression levels. Based on collection accessions — field pea (spring) Vorskla UD0900307, field pea (winter) Flamingo UD0900920, and awnless quaking grass Sokil UJ2000477 — the following varieties were developed and entered into the State Register of Plant Varieties Suitable for Distribution in Ukraine: Vorskla (field pea, spring), Certificate No. 230772 dated 10.10.2023, Plant Variety Patent No. 230719 dated 15.11.2023; Flamingo (field pea, winter), Certificate No. 240565 dated 01.10.2024, Plant Variety Patent No. 240372 dated 01.10.2024; and Sokil (awnless quaking grass), Certificate No. 210680 dated 16.09.2021, Plant Variety Patent No. 210888 dated 26.10.2021. During the project, 5 papers were published in Category B journals and 20 abstracts were presented at national and international scientific-practical conferences.
