The purpose of the research is to develop theoretical foundations for the prevention of soil degradation processes naturally through the optimal combination of agrilandscape elements and natural lands and their management in erosion-prone situations in agricultural production to create conditions for the self-restoration of degraded soils and increase their fertility. Research methods: field, logical, theoretical, comparative, descriptive. Patterns of changes in erosion status of soils on areas transformed into other natural lands after arable have been established, a new method for determining the soil protection efficiency of forest plantations presented in “New methods for determining the soil protection effectiveness of forest plantations and other anti-erosion measures” (Appendix A). The probability of self-restoration of degraded soils to their natural state studied, and the main provisions-hypotheses of the theory of self-restoration of degraded soils in erosion-prone landscapes formulated. The theoretical foundations for the self-restoration developed and the feasibility of studying the probability of self-restoration substantiated. A scientific publication entitled “Natural Ways to Restore Soil Fertility” has been prepared (Appendix B). A scientific publication entitled “Theoretical foundations for the prevention of soil degradation processes by natural means and their management in erosion-prone situations in agricultural production” prepared (Appendix C). A method for determining the impact of soil-protecting forest plantations on soils with varying degrees of erosion on the lands of the State Enterprise ”Hrakivske" NSC ISSAR on an area of 12 hectares (Appendix D) was tested. A patent was obtained for utility model No. 152616 dated 22.02.2023 “Sprinkler system for studying soil erosion”(Appendix E).
