The aim of the work is to develop an antimicrobial agent based on hop products in the form of suppositories to improve the effectiveness of treatment of proctological diseases in both military personnel and the civilian population. Research methods – physical and physicochemical, microbiological, pharmaco-technological, pharmacological, statistical. Essential oil was obtained by distillation from hop cone granules and its composition was determined. The level of antimicrobial activity of hop essential oil was studied on museum strains of microorganisms and clinical isolates characteristic of proctological diseases, and its high and moderate antimicrobial effect on Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria was revealed. The composition and manufacturing technology of a mucoadhesive rectal hydrogel containing a nanoemulsion of hop essential oil and Myoxinol® for the treatment of pathological processes associated with hypertonicity of the internal anal sphincter, severe pain syndrome, inflammation and the risk of developing infectious complications in the anorectal area have been developed. The developed gel composition allows achieving the following rheological parameters (measured at 20°C): dynamic viscosity (at average shear): 20,000 – 35,000 mPa·s (cP); yield strength (τ0): 150 – 300 Pa, in the presence of electrolytes 25-60 Pa; pseudoplasticity index (STI): 12.0 – 20.0, in the presence of electrolytes 5.0-8.0. The gel has a high level of mucoadhesive properties and provides a complex analgesic, antispasmodic, antioxidant and antimicrobial effect.
