The conditions for implementing these facilities to cover peak loads in the country's power grid have been analyzed. The selection of power equipment designs based on gas turbines and gas piston units for distributed generation in Ukraine has been substantiated. The current and potential capabilities of biogas plants for electricity production in various regions of Ukraine have been analyzed. Prospects for using cogeneration units at biogas complexes in peak and semi-peak modes have been identified. The processes of treating municipal solid waste wastewater with the subsequent production of alternative composite fuels, as well as the drying and combustion characteristics of the resulting sludge, have been experimentally and theoretically studied. A resource-saving technology has been developed to intensify the conversion of lignocellulosic feedstock into fuel ethanol and lignin.
