The use of solid lubricants in waterless grinding technologies most fully corresponds to the reduction of water use in servicing industrial needs. The project developed and studied waterless processes of the most progressive method of processing difficult-to-machine materials - diamond and diamond-spark grinding. Based on the study of world experience, a number of solid lubricants were developed for research practice. Representatives from 2 groups of difficult-to-machine materials widely used in the aviation industry were selected for the experiments. From titanium alloys, the VT22 alloy was selected, which is used for the manufacture of power parts and welded assemblies of aircraft airframes, power parts and chassis assemblies. The representative of the second group was selected dispersion hardening steel 10X11N23T3MR, which is used for the manufacture of parts operated at elevated temperatures in aggressive environments. These are blades, turbine parts, disks, springs. The universal grinding machine model 3D642E was modernized. To obtain high cutting speeds, a frequency converter was installed on the machine, which allows you to smoothly change the frequency of the electric current supplied to the main engine of the machine, thereby changing the engine speed, and a new protective casing was designed and manufactured, on which the developed device for solid lubrication of the working tool surface of the grinding wheel was placed. Research was conducted. The results of the research were implemented in the educational process, in this case, two master's theses were defended, the authors of the project defended dissertations of Doctor of Philosophy and Doctor of Science.
