The proposed solution confirmed the feasibility of transitioning from above-ground to underground substations in terms of reliability, safety, and efficiency of power supply. During the design phase, optimal structural and planning solutions for the underground substation were identified, ensuring a reduction in the impact of external climatic factors, increased operational reliability of equipment, and an increase in its service life. Placing the main electrical equipment underground reduces the risk of accidents related to weather conditions, vandalism, and military threats. The results of the analysis showed that the implementation of an underground substation contributes to increasing the safety of personnel and the population, reducing sanitary protection zones, and minimizing the visual impact of energy facilities on the urban environment. This creates the conditions for the efficient use of land resources, especially in densely built-up urban areas. The economic assessment of the project shows that, despite the increased initial capital investment, the construction of an underground substation is economically justified in the long term due to reduced operating costs, fewer emergency shutdowns, and lower repair costs.
