It has been established that the medicinal base for an ointment-gel is capable of absorbing water and biological fluids (whole blood and blood serum). The sterility of the medicinal base for an ointment-gel can be ensured by tyndallization, UV light and autoclaving. It has been proved that the base for an ointment-gel absorbs antimicrobial drugs. Plant raw materials (juices and decoctions) can be included in the composition of the medicinal base for an ointment-gel. In the composition of the medicinal base for an ointment, traditional antimicrobial drugs (antibiotics) and substances from plant raw materials and tincture inhibit the growth of gram-positive (S. aureus) and gram-negative microorganisms (E. coli and Ps. aeruginosa). In the composition of the medicinal base for an ointment, the maximum amount of inhibition of the growth of S. aureus is provided by doxycycline and oxytetracycline, and from plant raw materials – by a decoction of Chamomile. The use of doxycycline and neomycin as part of the medicinal base for the ointment-gel and neomycin and decoction of torilis and plantain juice provided a high antimicrobial effect against E. coli. Neomycin and celandine extract as part of the medicinal base for the ointment-gel effect the culture of Ps. aeruginosa cells. The created medicinal base for ointment-gels with chlorhexidine, colloidal silver and iodine provide "wet" wound healing, which accelerates the recovery of animals. The healing time of surgical wounds and injuries to the integumentary surfaces of organism in animals using the ointment-gel is 2-3 days faster, and healing occurs under primary tension, compared to traditional ointment analogues.
