Such materials, combined with quantum photonics, are in great demand in such emerging technologies as quantum computing, communication, and sensing. To achieve this ambitious goal of creating transparent superconductor electronics, it is necessary to develop technologies for synthesizing materials with the required characteristics and to study the peculiarities of their crystal structure and electrical transport parameters. popup.description2 It is shown that the controlled creation of oxygen vacancies in ITO films ensures the manageable onset of superconductivity (Tc ≈ 3–4 К) while simultaneously preserving high optical transparency, making this material suitable for integrated superconducting-photonic devices. DFT calculations and experiment consistently demonstrate that oxygen removal causes the Fermi level to shift into the conduction band, an increase in the electronic density of states, and band flattening near the Γ-point, which facilitates the formation of a robust superconducting state. Losses in transparency are only partially related to electronic doping, while the main contribution under strong reduction originates from light scattering by nanoscale indium clusters. Thus, oxygen vacancy engineering is identified as the key tool for balancing the superconducting and optical properties of ITO and a practical pathway toward transparent superconductors for hybrid quantum and photonic platforms.
