Object of research: Mechanisms of action of new genes involved in the regulation of riboflavin (RF) synthesis in flavinogenic yeasts.Goal of research: study of molecular mechanisms of regulation of RF (vitamin B2) oversynthesis in flavinogenic yeasts. The regularities of RF synthesis regulation in a new class of overproducers of this vitamin - yeasts of Blastobotrys sp and Candida hispaniensis were studied. It was established that these yeasts are capable of RF oversynthesis at high iron concentrations in the medium. It was found that the flavigenic activity of Blastobotrys sp, but not C. hispaniensis, increases in the presence of sulfur-containing amino acids (methionine or cysteine). Under conditions of iron deficiency, the activity of GTP-cyclohydrolase 11 and the production of RF increase. Scientific and practical significance of the research: Studying the regulation of RF biosynthesis in yeast is important both for clarifying the causes of its oversynthesis and for creating theoretical foundations for the design of new producers of this vitamin. Significance for preserving and improving the state of the environment and sustainable development. In the biotechnological production of RF, non-renewable precursors are not used, by-products are not formed, and environmental pollution is reduced. Ukraine does not have its own production of RF. The use of yeast strains is necessary for the sustainable development of agriculture. The level of research corresponds to the world level. There are no analogues in Ukraine. 3 articles have been published, 2 of them in international scientific publications with a total IF of 10.3, 1 review in an international monograph, 7 abstracts of reports conferences.
