Experimental samples of the corresponding films were obtained. Using X-ray diffraction and X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy, the phase and stoichiometric composition of the synthesized Hg,Cd)S and (Hg,Cd)Se solid solution films was determined. Optical spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy were used to study the influence of the molar ratio of Hg-containing and Cd-containing salts on the optical transmission spectra, band gap, and surface morphology of the synthesized solid solution films.
