Accordingly, Ukraine’s integration into these structures appears possible only on the condition of overcoming social fragmentation and consciously embracing unifying values shared not only by Ukrainians but by European civilisation as a whole. The project aims to identify value orientations capable of fostering solidarity among Ukrainians and to develop effective mechanisms for disseminating these values that can be implemented at both local and national levels. The project envisages a comprehensive applied study of mechanisms of societal solidarisation based on an analysis of the value orientations of Ukrainian society and citizens’ behavioural patterns in crisis situations, both in historical retrospect and in the contemporary context. It is grounded in the ideas that: (1) mechanisms of social solidarity play a priority role in ensuring Ukraine’s sustainable development, national security, and the achievement of objectives set within the framework of the state’s European and Euro-Atlantic course; and (2) it is necessary to take into account both positive and negative historical experience, European and domestic, of societies characterised by divisions along religious, ethnic, ideological, and other lines. The project focuses on designing an evolutionary model for the formation of shared values within a pluralistic society, based on successful examples from foreign countries and Ukrainian history.
