TMD are one of the most promising materials in the field of nanotechnology due to their unique properties, however, for large-scale application in complex systems with controllable properties, it is necessary to improve their spectral and electrical characteristics, one of the key control methods of which is the functionalization of the TMD surface. The aim of the Project is to study the influence of different types and materials of functionalization on the spectral and electrical properties of 2D nanostructures of TMD, which is the basis for developing fundamental principles for the creation of multicomponent hybrid nanomaterials with controllable and improved optical, electrical, magnetic, etc. properties depending on the field of application. To achieve the goal, it is necessary to perform the following tasks: (1) To study the energy spectra of vibrational and electronic elementary excitations of crystals and periodic nanostructures of hexagonal TMD, linear π-electron conjugated systems, and functionalized TMD modifications using optical spectroscopy methods. To assess the possibilities of controlling optical properties for specific applications. (2) To investigate the effect of functionalization on the electronic properties of TMD. (3) Using quantum chemistry methods, to calculate the electronic configurations, positions of energy levels of the ground and higher excited states, and optical transition energies for linear π-electron conjugated systems, TMD monolayers, and hybrid nanosystems based on them. (4) To interpret the obtained experimental data, to develop theoretical models to explain the registered effects. (5) To compare the properties of functionalized TMD with analogues based on carbon-graphite materials.
