Head Kharkovshchenko Yevhen A., Доктор філософських наук Registration Date 26-02-2026 Organization Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv popup.description1 The goal of the study is to develop strategic narratives of religious security in the post-war period that take into account the experiences of state structures, civil society institutions, and religious organizations gained during the war, particularly in the restoration of religious buildings, the return of priests from captivity, support for Ukrainians abroad, etc., as well as their instrumental capacity for social consolidation and mobilization of Ukrainian society. popup.description2 The significance and relevance of the issue of religious security are determined not only by its status as an integral component of Ukraine’s national security architecture and a factor of national resilience, but also by the broader mission of the humanities and social sciences to articulate research paradigms and to elaborate intellectual as well as practical mechanisms for the post-war reconstruction of the state, the safeguarding of its territorial integrity, democratic values, and human life. The project’s relevance stems from the necessity of a comprehensive resolution of scholarly, spiritual and moral, socio-cultural, and ideological challenges within the security domain that possess both national and pan-European dimensions. The project is designed to address a lacuna in contemporary academic discourse, namely the absence of a systematic and holistic analysis of religious security in the post-war context. The development of such a conceptual framework is expected to enhance Ukraine’s national resilience, facilitate the restoration of its territorial integrity, reinforce democratic foundations, and ensure the protection of human life. Moreover, the research demonstrates substantial prognostic potential, as it advances innovative models and modalities of interaction among religious organizations, the state, and civil society, while delineating the moral and worldview priorities of post-war development. The overarching objective of the project is to formulate strategic narratives of religious security in the post-war period which, on the one hand, incorporate the experience accumulated during the war by state institutions, civil society actors, and religious organizations (including the reconstruction of religious infrastructure, the repatriation of clergy from captivity, and support for Ukrainians abroad), and, on the other hand, conceptualize their potential as instruments of social consolidation and societal mobilization in Ukraine.
