The kinetic and fuel characteristics of solid and liquid alternative fuels have been determined: biomass, household waste, vegetable fats, pyrolysis fuel from car tyres, fuel oil. When burning solid alternative fuels, it has been shown that it is possible to ‘light’ the fuel layer with a more reactive fuel that has a higher heat of combustion and more volatile components, which ensures a stable combustion mode. The combustion of liquid and solid fuels in a self-ignition mode using a two-stage working process ensures high combustion completeness and a reduction in harmful emissions. Based on the experiments conducted, taking into account the results obtained and the developed two-stage working process of fuel combustion in self-ignition mode, a burner device for burning solid and liquid alternative fuels was created.
