The purpose of the research: to assess the adaptive potential and filtration activity of hydrobionts to predict the self-purification ability of reservoirs. Model studies have been conducted on the elimination of explosives (TNT) by aquatic plants. The results of the studies indicate that the green freshwater alga Rhizoclonium sp., which is widespread in water bodies in Ukraine, is a promising species from the point of view of biological purification of the aquatic environment from pollution by explosives. The work first investigated the effect of TNT on the physiological state of Dreissena polymorpha mollusks, which play a key role in the self-purification of water bodies. Based on the data obtained, mathematical models of the filtration activity of hydrobionts were developed, which will allow predicting the self-purification ability of water bodies. The obtained research material is scientifically novel and valuable for understanding the role of self-purification processes in aquatic ecosystems on the path to their recovery from the consequences of war. The results of the work will contribute to the development and implementation of technologies for biological purification of aquatic ecosystems from explosives and their degradation products in water bodies.
