Head Kashuba Olena V., Доктор біологічних наук Registration Date 03-03-2026 Organization R.E. Kavetsky Institute of Experimental Pathology, Oncology and Radiobiology National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine popup.description1 Study on the functional consequences of the decrease of MRPS18-2 protein levels in embryonic tumor cells with the aim to inhibit the growth of malignant neoplasms. This will allow to propose the personalized therapy for patients with embryonic tumors and, thus, increase the effectiveness of complex treatment, improve survival rates and the quality of life. popup.description2 In vitro, the ability of supramolecular complexes of antisense RNAs against MRPS18-2 to inhibit the viability of A375 melanoma cells was demonstrated for the first time. In vivo, an experimental model of immunodeficient SCID mice showed that overexpression of MRPS18 family proteins in A375 melanoma cells and Saos-2 osteosarcoma cells differentially affects tumor growth. Melanoma neoplasms with overexpression of MRPS18-1 and -3 are characterized by smaller tumor nodules compared to tumors formed from the original A375 cells. In Saos-2 cells, overexpression of MRPS18-2 leads to the acquisition of tumorigenicity of osteosarcoma cells in this experimental model. Product Description popup.authors Kovalevska Larysa M.
