Various methods for extracting humic acids have been studied and compared, enabling increased yields. An approach using hydrocavitation activation has been proposed, ensuring the transfer of more than 85% of humic acids/humates into an aqueous solution. The synthesized humic acids/sodium humates have demonstrated high efficiency in extracting heavy metal ions (up to 95.8% for Cu²⁺ and 94.9% for Pb²⁺). The optimal sorbent concentration has been determined to be 5 mg/dm³. The physicochemical properties of residual coal (after humic acid extraction) have been studied, and it can also be used as a sorbent. The results obtained have served as the basis for developing scientific and technological recommendations for implementing carbon-neutral water purification technologies and environmentally friendly brown coal processing.
