The biochemical processes occurring in biogas plants were studied, and it was established that one of the key parameters determining the efficiency of methane fermentation is the pH level of the fermentation medium. Mathematical models were developed to describe the relationship between the acidity indicator of the substrate and the factors influencing the anaerobic digestion process, as well as a mathematical model describing the dynamics of this indicator in the bioreactor. To construct these models, parameter identification methods based on interval data analysis were applied, allowing uncertainty in measurements and variability of biomass characteristics to be taken into account. A new two-stage method for identifying the mathematical model of substrate acidity dynamics in a bioreactor was proposed and substantiated. The method involves the sequential determination of the functional relationship between the acidity indicator and the influencing factors, followed by the construction of a dynamic model of this parameter. Based on the proposed method, a mathematical model in the form of a differential equation was obtained, whose parameters are adjusted for a specific biogas plant and ensure guaranteed predictive properties within the accuracy limits of the interval data. An open service-oriented architecture of software for modeling processes in biogas plants was developed. The architecture integrates software components for mathematical model identification, interpretation of interval discrete models, and solving differential equations.
