It was established that a greater number of productive spelt somaclones can be obtained on regeneration media with a high content of 6-benzylaminopurine (BAP), regardless of the medium used for callus induction. A comparison was conducted of the morphological features of the stomatal apparatus in spherical-grain wheat, Isfahan wheat, Sinai wheat, and spelt. The effect of short-term drought on bread wheat, spherical-grain wheat, and spelt was studied. It was found that in bread wheat of the Podolyanka variety, short-term drought leads to a significant decrease in total plant mass and grain mass, while in spelt (Triticum spelta var. duhamelianum) it causes a significant decrease in the number of spikelets and the harvest index. Spherical-grain wheat (Triticum sphaerococcum var. rubiginozum L 322-15) proved to be the most sensitive to short-term drought, showing a significant reduction in the number of spikelets, grain weight, number of grains, and harvest index. Among the five tested genotypes of bread wheat, the highest frequency of regeneration from callus of apical origin was observed in the varieties Zymoyarka and Podolyanka, while a medium regeneration frequency was characteristic of the variety Yatran 60. Accordingly, these bread wheat genotypes are suitable for Agrobacterium-mediated transformation in in vitro culture. Product Description popup.authors Iryna O. Nitovska Olha V. Pronina Марія О.
