The strategy of integrated border management provides the improvement of operational and service activity of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, in particular its border guard detachments and units in different conditions. The research work is designed to implement the requirements of the Strategy popup.description2 According to the results of the analysis of the OSD of border detachments, contradictions were identified: between the content, scope and modern conditions for performing tasks on the organization of the OSD of the PRYKZ and the management of subordinate units, on the one hand, and the existing (not adapted) methodological support for these processes, on the other hand; between the requirements of the present, in particular new guiding documents, regarding the organization of the OSD of the PRYKZ and the management of subordinate units, taking into account different environmental conditions, on the one hand, and the limited capabilities of the known scientific and methodological apparatus, on the other. Therefore, the presence of these contradictions necessitates the need to eliminate them, which determines the relevance of the topic of scientific and research work. The object of the study is the operational and service activities of the border detachment in different environmental conditions. The purpose of the work is to develop tools (models, methods) and recommendations for increasing the effectiveness of the organization of the OSD and the management of subordinate units in different environmental conditions.
