Head Marenkov Oleh M., к.б.н. Registration Date 12-03-2026 Organization Oles Honchar Dnipro National University popup.description1 Assess the state of waterbodies and coastal ecosystems that have undergone transformation under the influence of military actions, technogenic factors and climate change, and develop a set of measures for their preservation and restoration. popup.description2 During the reporting period, a comprehensive set of studies aimed at assessing the current state of aquatic ecosystems and biodiversity under conditions of anthropogenic and military impact was carried out. Hydrobiological, ichthyological, hydrochemical, and radioecological investigations of water bodies in the Prydniprovia region were conducted, which made it possible to obtain new scientific data on the structure and functioning of aquatic biocenoses. The main trends in changes in the species composition of aquatic organisms were identified, and the factors influencing the decline in the biological productivity of water bodies were determined. The condition of the food base and fish populations in the studied aquatic ecosystems was also assessed. Special attention was paid to the impact of technogenic and military factors on aquatic ecosystems, including water pollution, destruction of natural habitats, and disruption of the natural reproduction processes of aquatic organisms. Within the framework of the study, scientifically substantiated approaches to assessing environmental damage caused to biodiversity and aquatic biological resources as a result of ecosystem disturbances were proposed. The foundations of a methodology for calculating environmental damage were developed, taking into account not only direct losses of organisms but also the loss of reproductive potential of populations, degradation of habitats, and disruption of ecosystem functions. The obtained results are of significant importance for the development of hydroecological research, improvement of environmental monitoring systems, and preparation of scientific recommendations for the restoration of disturbed aquatic ecosystems. The research results may be used for assessing environmental damage, developing programs for the restoration of natural resources, and shaping state environmental policy.
