It is based on plasmon resonance and optimized for biological samples. The main objectives of the project were: (1) modeling of a sensor chip with improved signal resolution and (2) evaluation of the chip's efficiency for the analysis of various biological samples and biological events. The research was conducted using physical and mathematical modeling of analyte layers based on aqueous mixtures of nucleotides, proteins and arbitrary organic analyte layers (for bioreceptors). The developed sensor chip has great potential for application in medicine and for detailed environmental monitoring. The research was conducted on the basis of a set of basic physical properties and processes associated with both the excitation of surface plasmons and the use of (and search for) suitable materials in the sensor to create new generations of optical sensors based on the Kretschmann scheme. They allow analyzing liquids for the presence of impurities harmful to humans (poisons, viruses, bacteria, etc.). A new type of optical sensors on the SPR with a simplified chip was studied, but with a complicated receptor-analyte region (aqueous mixtures of molecular inclusions that directly contact the conductive nanolayer of the chip). Solid layered composite structures and their combinations located between the conductive nanolayer and the analyte, in the form of an aqueous mixture of molecular inclusions, were also considered. When modeling sensors, a new method of direct calculation of the main sensor characteristics will be used instead of. At the same time, as an integral part of the method of direct calculation of the main sensor characteristics, methods for calculating the effective dielectric constants of media with a complex structure (mixtures, layered structures) are also used.
