The aim of this study is to develop key principles of energy and climate security and, based on these principles, establish principles for creating carbon-free energy supply systems for residential buildings in Ukraine. The research method utilized theoretical approaches based on thermophysical analysis, principles of building thermal physics, building climatology, and other factors. An analysis of the main factors and characteristics of global climate change was conducted. The key principles of the energy and climate security concept were formulated. Priorities and practices for energy, environmental, and climate security were examined. The key strategic benchmarks for energy and climate security were analyzed. Particular attention was paid to the fundamental principles of decarbonization of energy supply in the Ukrainian of building stock sector in the context of energy and climate security. An analysis was conducted of the prospects for using renewable energy sources and energy storage technologies for various types of energy in heat-generating units. The possibilities for developing these systems based on the principles of intersectoral communication, demand management, and heat supply electrification were considered.
