The project’s goal is a theoretical and experimental study of the transgenerational impact of the Holodomor’s genocidal trauma on the mental health of the first, second (thematic reflective analysis of Ministry of Internal Affairs archival files), third, fourth, and fifth (prospective longitudinal study and focus groups) generations of Ukrainians under wartime and postwar conditions. The study is based on an ecological approach to the life cycle of the individual. The main objectives of the project are: a systematic review of the literature with a meta-analysis covering the last 10 years on the issue of the transgenerational impact of the genocidal trauma of the Holodomor on the mental health of direct descendants of different generations and the mental health of Ukrainians; experimental study and causal modeling of the transgenerational impact of the Holodomor’s genocidal trauma on various spheres of functioning of individuals from different generations; development and standardization of a questionnaire for diagnosing the transgenerational impact of genocidal trauma; development and testing of community intervention programs aimed at healing the genocide trauma of Ukrainians, including representatives of different generations, and a training course titled “Genocide Trauma and Community-Focused Interventions” with open access on the Moodle platform.
