The object of the study is the planning structure of the residential area of the city of Dnipro in the context of its transformation. The objective of the first section of the research is to identify and study the architectural and urban planning aspects of the transformation of residential areas of the city of Dnipro in connection with objective changes in the factors determining this process; development of conclusions for the first chapter. Research methods: graphic-analytical, statistical, cartographic, analog, and computer modeling. The paradigm for the ecological and urban transformation of residential areas in Dnipro is still being developed. Its components are not fully defined and are probabilistic in nature. They are linked to objective changes in economics, politics, military, socio-demographic, anthropological, environmental, engineering, technological, and other factors that shape new approaches to the functional and structural planning of residential areas and their interaction with other areas of the regional capital. Identifying new paths for the transformation of residential areas will be an important tool in the development of Dnipro. The research results have been integrated into the educational process at the Department of Architectural Design and Urban Planning. The projected assumptions for the development of the research object are the search for optimal models for the ecological and urban transformation of elements of the planning structure of a large city, taking into account the revitalization of industrial areas (using Dnipro as an example).
