The main tasks that we set for ourselves are to create dressings that will promote rapid wound healing, will not cause discomfort to sick dogs, and will be easily removed from the wound during dressings. The form of the dressing should be as simple and convenient as possible for use in the field, so that it can be applied to the animal not only by a military veterinarian, but also by a dog handler, soldier, State Emergency Service employee, or other person. At the first stage of the project, we developed special compositions of hydrogel dressings for treating wounds. New forms of specialized hydrogel dressings have been created for effective first veterinary aid for wounds of various nature. To create the dressings, a hydrogel based on bioactive polymers of natural origin with increased absorption properties (more than 50 g/dm2) and the ability to model different in complexity reliefs of the wound bed was used. Work was carried out to increase the rate of absorption of wound secretions by increasing the absorption area when forming a gel plate in a macroporous form. When creating hydrogel dressings, they were molded under wound surfaces of different origins (burn, torn, penetrating), of different sizes and sites of damage. For application to the animal's body in different areas, the functional properties of flexion and extension of the limbs were taken into account. The ability of the hydrogel used to create the dressings to be saturated with drugs and release them into the affected wound area was studied. At the same time, the possibility of saturating hydrogels with hemostatic, absorbent, analgesic and antimicrobial agents was investigated. Product Description popup.authors Volodymyr Y.
