The project plans to investigate spatial problems of land use, priority areas for improving approaches to land consolidation in Ukraine, taking into account the peculiarities of the post-war situation. popup.description2 Land consolidation in the post-war period is one of the key tools for restoring effective land use in Ukraine, which involves not only spatial optimization of land plots, but also solving systemic problems associated with the fragmentation of agricultural lands and changes in their functional state as a result of hostilities. The study focuses on substantiating approaches to the consolidation of agricultural and forest lands, in particular in conditions of natural afforestation. It is determined that land redistribution allows solving the problem of transferring naturally forested land plots from the agricultural category to the forest fund, while ensuring the formation of compact and functionally homogeneous land massifs. The spatial characteristics of land plots are analyzed in the context of the efficiency of their use and specific features of consolidation in post-war conditions are identified. Two practical algorithms for the consolidation of naturally forested agricultural lands have been developed: by redemption and exchange with preservation of the original boundaries of the plots, as well as by redistribution with changes to the existing boundaries. The results obtained form a methodological basis for the implementation of pilot land consolidation projects, the development of regional land management programs and can serve as explanatory material for landowners within the framework of the current legislation of Ukraine.
