Vysotsky popup.description1 Development of methodological guidelines for conservation and restoring the gene pool of main forest-forming tree species, particularly in areas impacted by military operations popup.description2 Study object: preservation of the gene pool of native and introduced woody plants. Aim of the study: development of methodological guidelines for conservation and restoring the gene pool of main forest-forming tree species, particularly in areas impacted by military operations. Methodology of the study: comparative-ecological, mensuration, breeding and seed production methods, morphological, anatomical, cytological, biochemical, mathematical-statistical. The current state of gene pool conservation sites in Vinnytsia, Kyiv and Kharkiv regions was assessed, including the genetic reserve, plus trees, clonal and family seed orchards, and progeny tests. The study of reproductive and phenological characteristics of Scots pine, Norway spruce, English oak, and walnut clones at ex situ gene pool conservation sites was continued. Based on a comprehensive evaluation of the growth intensity, health condition, stem quality, and invasive p of 13 introduced species across several regions of Ukraine, six species were identified as promising for the establishment of forest plantations, provided that they demonstrate non-invasive behavior. Work continued on refining methods for the propagation of promising varieties and forms, particularly through in vitro techniques. Procedures for sterilizing plant explants of the genera Populus, Quercus, and Corylus were optimized, and the specific features of morphogenesis activation and its prolongation were further elucidated.
