The goal of the investigation is to identify classification groupings and qualification levels of professions for personnel on the sphere of trade and organization of catering taking into consideration the provisions of the Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of the 20th of January, 1998 #65 "On the validation of the Regulations on education and qualification levels". Methods of investigation are as follows: comparison, logical analysis, analogy, grouping, generalization, expert assessments, statistical analysis, labor productivity. The result of the investigation is realization of new principles of categorization of professionals, experts and trade employees and introduction of ranks for all workers' professions in the course of developing new wording of the Reference Bo ok of Qualification Characteristics of Employees' Professions, part 65 " Wholesale and Retail Trade. Activities of Catering Establishment". The field of application is the sphere of domestic trade, catering establishments, commercial relations of the subjects of economy on the commodity market, subjects of the system of higher and professional education. The efficiency is the application of the Reference Book of Qualification Characteristics of Employees' Professions, part 65 "Wholesale and Retail Trade. Activities of Catering Establishment" will enable to improve the selection and validity of location and utilization of personnel, to create personnel potential able to perform tasks which are carried out in the area of trade and catering.
