The aim: to investigate the changes of gastric secretory and motor function with aging during longitudinal study. Methods: maximal gistamin test, mechanical balonokimography, endoscopy with biopsy, identification of HP infection with rapid urease test - De-Nol test. The results: From the moment of the first investigation gastroduodenal pathology appeared in 57 % of persons. In healthy subjects there was no significant changes in gastric acid output with aging. The decline in stimulated acid secretion with aging was related to a higher prevalence of chronic atrophic gastritis (CAG). The correlation between gastric motility and secretion was found to weaken with aging. Novelty: the age-related changes of gastric secretion and motor activity were investigated in the same persons during longitudinal study. It was shown the dependence of these changes on the presence of gastroduodenal pathology.
