The objective of project is development problem-oriented methods and tools for providing the adaptability of distributed software systems destined for automation of some system category. Within project the following was done: 1) the concept of adaptability of software systems was defined; 2) objectives for providing adaptability on different levels of software architecture were formulated; 3) certain models and methods to provide the adaptability of distributed software systems destined for automation of multilevel hierarchical organization management system were proposed and examined: the model of software architecture to provide the adaptability related to availability and fail tolerance was explored; the adaptive algorithm for database replication was proposed; 4) the formal model of observer to provide the adaptability of distributed software system during its operation process was de scribed; 5) the method of observer implementation by system of communicating intelligent agents was proposed.
