In performing the work, the methods of specimen flexure, the Knoop and Vickers indentation, micro-Raman spectroscopy, and fractographic analysis were utilized. By using the developed procedure for determining V-notch specimen fracture toughness and the method for determining flexural strength, the regularities of the mechanical behavior of the advanced ceramics were investigated at a present scientific and technical level. The influence of the emission source frequency on zirconia crystal spectra was established and it was shown that the luminiscence spectrum is more intense than the phonon one.
