Objective: Peculiarities of biological reaction of interstitial tissue (skin, epithelium of cavitary organs) and internal media of the organism for contact with polydisperse systems based on tungsten, barium sulphate and zinc oxide. Methods: x-ray, dosimetric, morphological. Obtained result: Biological influence in the surrounding tissues of threads with polydisperse systems (tungsten, barium, zinc based) with increased ability to attenuate radiation has been studied. According to the reaction of the contacting tissue non-toxic materials which can be used in practice were chosen. Higher x-ray contrast of small-disperse fractions of polydisperse barium connected with more marked ability was revealed. The use of small-disperse samples increases diagnostic informativity at x-ray study of the cavitary organs (gastrointestinal tract, urinary bladder). The experiments demonstrated marked toxic action of m edical barium sulphate and absence of toxicity of small-dispersion samples.
