There were determined the coefficients of clay distribution with respect to 137Cs and 90Sr, and calculated the factors of retardation (R). The study has provided the estimates of ratings of clay minerals and rocks that include their physicochemical properties, deposits, and costs of development, extraction, and transportation of clay. A mathematical model was built to test the penetration of clay engineered barriers by radionuclides.
