Aims of this work: studing of special features of epidemiology and of evolving of clinical symptoms of LD; developing of methods for diagnostics and prophylaxis of LD. Methods of study: bacteriological, immunological, serological, clinicoepidemiological. As a result of our study we for the first time scientifically proved the existence of high epidemic potential and endemity of LD in the Ukraine. We have proved, that their activity of natural foci was caused by their loimopotential which, in his turn, was caused by guantity of ticks I.ricin us and by high level of their infection by borrelioses. We have determined, that up to 57 % of the population contact with borreliosis agent and that the diagn osis "LD" was proved in 31,4 % of persons suspected to have this infection. We have mapped natural foci of LD and also have made the prognostic map.We have determined the spectrum of clinical symptoms od LD. For the first time in Ukraine we have obtained proofs of the existence of mixed natural foci and of the cases of mixed-infections of people by TBE and by LD. Ttis prompted us to propose a compulsory differential diagnostics of the TBE and LD. We have developed and tested methods of prophylaxis of LD. The results of our work were inculeated into practice of medical and prophylactic institutions of Lviv, Ternopil, Volyn and Zakarpatska regions.
