Aim of research: to obtain ingots, that are preliminery refined by vacuum-arc remelting; to manufacture platinum and palladium ingots, refined by chemical method; to work out methodics for prelimineri refinement of platinum and palladium alloys scrap during vacuum-arc and induction melting in cold crucible. Complex of research work concerning to working through of methods of primary platinum and its alloys purification was carried out in Research and Production Enterprise "Rubin". A vacuum-arc melting technology on plant "Katod" which was created especially for this goal; a technology of purification during induction melting in cold crucible were working out. It was shown that application of vacuum- arc melting method and method of induction melting in cold crucible for primary platinum scrap purificati on is advisable in lowscale manufacture. Primary purification of platinum-rhodium alloys bars by vacuum-arc melting method was carried out in research-and-production enterprise "Rubin". After purification bars were sent to firms "Johnson Matthey" (England) and "Heraeus" (Germany) for further refinement. Platinum-rhodium alloys refinement was carried out by chemical method. A technological scheme of alloys purification included the following main operations: dissolution of alloys; Pt, Pd separation from Rh; Pt and Pd divideness; Pt, Pd, Rh purification by the means of washing in corresponding reagents; corresponding salts receiving. After heating according to complex temperature-hour conditions, platinum sponge, palladium sponge and metallic rhodium powder were obtained.
