Dielectric clusters of xenon, krypton, argon, neon, helium atoms and metallic nanoparticles (Al, Au, Ag) are objects of the research work. In the framework of classical theory absorption of small metal particles in the far-infrared is estimated. Using the density functional method the theory for self-deformed dielectric clusters which contain an excess electron or positron has been performed. Binding energy of quantum particles and size of critical clusters has been calculated.
