Its systemic and structural, pragmatic, psychological and social characteristics are being analysed. The main task of the present research lies in theoretic grounding and practical investigation into pragmatic, cognitive and psychological aspects of speech activities and in analysing the ways of applying the data obtained for the purpose of foreign language teaching. The present systemic research sums up the main ideas of speech character in terms of linguistic pragmatics. The nature and evolution of speech acts is treated in accordance with their conceptual essence in discourses of various historic periods, and the connection and mutual dependence of the evolution of cognitive and pragmatic aspects of discourse is stated. Psychological aspects of cross-cultural communication are equally in the focus of our research. The relation of the grammatical gender and natural sex in the system of general reference in English is being looke d into. Different types of implicatures in speech acts are being defined. The social and communicative nature of advertisements is being studied. The analysis of categorial and semantic characteristic features of the German verb is undertaken. A historic retrospective of non-verbal communication and the typical ways of its representation in the texts of drama is being investigated. The results of the study of pragmatic features of the compliment in English are recapitulated. A new concept of pedagogic grammar is being explained.
