The major factors influencing a condition of an environment at closing of opencasts are established. The main directions of closing of opencasts are established: first - liquidation unprofitable and second - conservation of unpromising opencasts, proceeding, first of all, from principles of general strategy of steady development of territory in view of ability of ecological systems to self-restoration at a unequal measure technogenical of loading. The general requirements showed to territory, broken by open mining operations and requirement to technology of mining operations on restoration of the broken grounds are developed.
