An objective was to develop mathematical software, to investigate an effect of structural changes on dynamical properties of a car and to develop recommendations on modernization lines. Methods for statisfic dynamics, mathematic modelling and computer simulation, vibra- tions theory are used. Results obtained -mathematic models for a freight car vibrations with allowance for the body elasticity and an added dam- per into the central spring suspension of truck are constructed. Impact of installation of elastically frictional sliders coupled with a wheel nonlinear profile developed at ITM NASU and NSAU on dynamical proper- ties of a car and inputting the added damper into the structure of spring suspension is evaluated. The novelty of the results consists in determining the optimal values of parameters for elastically frictional sliders, increasing the vibroprotection properties of a car through inp utting the added damper into the structure of the central spring suspention, developing recommendations on truck modernization lines. The obtained results will be used in practice to improve the running gears of freight cars. The work results are applied to railway transport.
