The purpose - the development of the manufacture technology of the mortar which will be resistant to an effect of melts of aluminium and electrolyte. The investigation methods - physico-chemical and thermomechanical. The mortar composition on the basis of silicon carbide, clay and organic additives which is on the level of foreign analogues according to their properties. The trial sample of such mortar is characterized by following indices: grain composition - pass through the sieve № 05 not less than 97 %, № 02 - 75-80 %, 009 - 45-50 %; mass composition: SiC - 78 %, Al2O3 - 4,9 %, C - 0,1 %. The strength at the joint displacement - 4 MPa (after drying) and 3,8 MPa (after thermal treatment up to 1000 jC); fire shrinkage - 0,1 %. It is planned to introduce the developed technology in the open joint stock company "The Ukrainian research institute of refractories named after A.S. Berezhnoy".
