The purpose of the work - the technology development for the manufacture of crucibles with increased indices of properties. The research investigations - chemical, petrographic, physical. On the basis of melted corundum, mullite and spinel of optimal composition (85/15) the technology was developed and a trial lot of crucibles with increased indices of properties was produced: chemical composition, %: Al2O3 - 92,2, MgO - 3,9, Fe2O3 - 0,3; open porosity - 13,9 %; cold crushing strength at 20 oC - 146,9 MPa, at 1400 oC - 24,3 MPa; softening temperature under load 0,5 MPa - 1690 oC; thermal shock resistance (1300 oC - water) - 16 heat cycles. It is planned to introduce the developed technology in the open joint stock company "The Ukrainian research institute of refractories named after A.S. Berezhnoy".
