Objectives: To optimize population medical exposure in Ukraine by determining the approaches to creation of the system of dosimetry quality assurance in radiodiagnosis and radiotherapy. Меthods: Literature analysis, analysis of the existing systems for quality assurance in radiodiagnosis and radiotherapy, analysis of the systems for accounting and control of individual doses of personnel and patients at medical exposure. Results: Literature sources (1990 - 2001) were analyzed. The models for provision of dosimetry quality in x-ray diagnosis and radiotherapy were developed. Main elements of the models were distinguished. Main ways to opt imize the system for centralized individual dosimetric control of medical personnel were determined. The information was obtained according to the worked-out questionnaire from 95 hospital of Ukraine. The structure of x-ray diagnostic procedures was investigated. The most common types of x-ray units in different types of hospitals were established. The analysis allowed to study the conditions of formation of dose load in radiologists.
