Objectives: To reveal the regulations of interaction of photon radiation with polydisperse systems for determining the approaches to creation of radiation protection and x-ray contrast preparations. Меthods: Dosimetry, radiography, microscopy. Results: The regularity in changes of x-ray attenuation with water suspensions of barium sulfate which depended on the energy and dispersion of the particles were revealed. The material for generalization has been accumulated. Coefficients x-ray attenuation by various samples of dry powder of polydisperse systems which contained Ba, Fe, Bi were determined. Stabilizing effect of sodium alginate on barium water suspensions was shown. The technique for radiographic investigation of polydisperse sample contrast was worked out for rats.
