Objectives: To create a standard for units of absorbed dose and absorbed dose rate of x-rays for provision of unity of measurement in medical institutions of Ukraine. Меthods: Information search, analysis of metrological and technical characteristics of the existing standards and means of measurement of absorbed dose of x-rays and dose rate. Results: The analysis of the state of standards of metrology provision of measurement of x-rays in the units of absorbed dose and absorbed dose rate was performed for Ukraine and foreign countries. Technical and metrological characteristics of the means of measurement of x-rays at medical institutions were studied. A functional scheme of the standard was substantiated. Technical task for creation a nd testing the standard was worked out. Fields of application: Area of application: medicine, radiodiagnosis, radiotherapy, radiation safety, metrology of ionizing radiation.
