Target of research - optimization of parameters of operating dust-and-gas-trapping units and issue of recommendations on bringing the level of emissions down to maximum allowable concentration. Method of investigation - dust and gas analyses, physico-chemical and aerodynamic measurements and calculations, instrumental and process studies, industrial equipment for dust-and-gas trapping units. The investigation is aimed at checking the operability of aspiration systems intended for catching dust of ground titanium slag and coke. Measurements were made of dust and gas to determine vacuum in the gas tract, volume of aspiration gases and performance efficiency of treatment stages #1 and #2 in BA-4, BA-4a, BA-3, BA-3a, BA-27 units. Main reasons of low efficiency of the above units were found out. Calculations were carried out for the selection of equipment. It has been found that a CTЦ-40 type cyclone with a diameter of 300 mm shall be used as treatment stage #1 in BA-27 units, while in other units a 600 mm dia cyclone shall be employed. Based on the results of the research, recommendations were issued aimed at the extension of filter bag service life and reduction of emission to the MAC.
