The work purpose - an improvement of the manufacture technology of mullite corundum mortars of brands MMK85-1 and MMK 85-2. The research investigations are chemical, petrographycal and thermomechanical. An employment possibility of clays of brands DH-2 and ДНПК equally with a clay of brand ПГОСВ in the mortar manufacture of brands ММК 85-1 and ММК 85-2 was ascertained. Optimum density of aqueous solution of orthophosphoric acid to be used for the preparation of the brickwork solution of the mortar. An employment of optimum type of the primary natural materials allowed to improve properties of mullite corundum mortars: for ММК 85-1 - to decrease the content of Fe2O3 from 0,5%; to change the limits of the mix change indice when igniting from 0,6 -1,5% up to 1-1,5%; for ММК 85-2 - to decrease the content of Fe2O3 from 0,7 up 0,5%. In OJSC "The Ukrainian research institute of refractories named after A.S.Berezhnoy" trial lots of mullite corundum mortar of a brand ММК 85-1 were produced.
