The work purpose - the manufacture improvement of chamottecordierite and cordierite ceramics with increased indices. The research methods are petrographycal, chemical, physicomechanical and electronmicroscopic. Investigations on an influence of different additions on the strength increase of chamotte-cordierite and the decrease of open porosity of cordierite products were carried out.. The investigations on the synthesis of cordierite binders from pure, active to sintering finely dispersive componets - magnium hydrooxide, aluminium hydrooxide, kaoling of Prosianovsky occurence. It was established that synthesized binders feature 75 - 80 % of rather well crystallized cordierite. As a result of the research compositions of chamotte cordierite products ensuring the cold crushing strength up to 57 MPa and cordierite ceramics ensuring open porosity up to 25% were developed. The projects of changes for ТИ and ТУ with an inclusion ofnew indices of properties were elaborated. Trial lots of chamotte cordierite and cordierite products for different enterprises of Ukraine were produced as well. The scientific work should be continued for the purpose of introducing obtained results and improving properties of cordierite ceramics.
