The relationship between enzymatic and non -enzymatic antioxidant systems after partial hepactomy was investigated. It was established that antioxidative activity of liver lipids and blood plasma was significantly increased after partial hepatectomy , this index in the liver of old hepatectomized animals is approximating to the level in young rats. It was found that activity of enzymatic antioxidant system in liver and blood of old rats after partial hepatectomy was reduced to the level of young animals. It is supposed that partial hepatectomy may be the reliable model for the study of free radical mechanisms of aging and the established interdependnent charges of activities of enzymatic and non-enzymatic antioxidant system may be one of the criteria for the search of geroprotectors.
